ABOUT THE BAND
The Paul Coombs Blues Band is a three piece rocking blues band powered by Paul's smoking guitar. Grounded by the solid rhythm section of bassist Bill Good and drummer Mike Travale we bring an exciting mix of originals and covers that have been rocking audiences in the Hamilton area since 2019. When the pandemic halted live shows it forced us into the recording studio which resulted in the release of an excellent debut album, "Steel Town Blues."
Paul Coombs: Influences- all the old Black blues players who created the new 20th century form known as the Blues.
Instruments: all forms of stringed instruments, if it has strings he'll figure out how to get music out of it.
Paul has been playing the blues around the Hamilton/Toronto area for decades. Starting out in such seminal punk bands as The Crazed and The Mean Red Spiders, Paul honed his song writing skills and made a name for himself as a master showman. His slide guitar playing is legendary, wowing audiences everywhere. Active in other bands like the punk Responsibles and the Bottles of Courage, a pub rock band, Paul is a force in the Hamilton music scene.
Michael Travale: Influences-blues, blues, rock, southern rock, jazz
Instruments: drums, percussion. Years active :1979 to present
Began drumming at an early age to influences, such as the Allman Brothers Band, Marshall Tucker Band, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Took an interest in Blues and rockin' Blues in his early 20s when he started to play with Paul Coombs. 30 years later he still enjoys the music scene and has been playing the circuit with other musicians in the GTHA. Mike is happy to be back with Paul and Bill creating some top notch, quality music and playing the circuit.

Bill Good: Influences-blues, rock n roll, rockabilly, '60's, punk, some country and all kick ass roots music
Instrument: bass. Active since the mid '80's
Bill started out playing in basement punk bands in the 80's, learning how to play and joining Hamilton area bar bands in the early '90's. Hooking up with Paul in the Big Trouble Blues Band in 1993, Bill caught the blues bug and continues to enjoy playing and supporting the Blues.
